School ICT Support

Working in a school is very different from working at a home or business - there is different software and a subtly different emphasis on IT with specialised equipment and educational tools. Over the course of the past 6 years, we have developed and learned how to apply our knowledge and experience in the most effective way for the educational sector, and liaising with RM and following their certification path has also provided us with further skills related specifically to their CC3 networks. We are also part of the RM Affiliated Technician Support Scheme, which recognises us as qualified providers of high level technical support to schools.

Basically, if it's in a school we can support it as we have either used it before or have been trained in its use, and we can provide upgrades and maintenance of your existing PC's, printers and other peripherals as well as provide you with a route to all the new technology.

Our maintenance contracts are both comprehensive and flexible and cover as little or as much as is required. Our attendance ranges from fully employed Experience and training both count equally towards expertise, which is why our engineers continually strive for further qualifications in addition to the Microsoft, Cisco, Compaq, Nexans and RM certifications they already hold.

With our experience of support and maintenance in the school environment, you can be sure of a first class service offering everything you need to maintain and develop your school ICT program. Our links with RM mean that we are first in the line when it comes to finding out about new technology and developments, and that knowledge we pass on to you, our clients.

Site survey

You may wish to take advantage of our free site survey, details of which can be obtained by clicking here. This survey will provide you with an independant, no obligation, professional report on the current state of your schools ICT, both admin and curriculum, along with a few suggestions as to improvements that can be made.

School Security

Security cameras

Security in schools these days has become a necessity, so we have made it a priority to be able to offer the latest in PC-based CCTV camera solutions. PC based solutions allow for a much greater flexibility of functions as well as a medium that people are comfortable with, in a box that can be easily upgraded as and when necessary for extra storage.

The school cameras that we use for preference are high definition cameras, with inbuilt infrared illumination that will provide a black and white image in pitch black darkness for up to 30 metres. No longer are they contained in big white housings, they are now more discreet and therefore harder to spot in darkness by potential thieves.

The cameras work on either a full time or motion detection basis (for preference) and can even be configured under motion detection to "ignore" plants and trees that wave about in the wind! In the event of a burglary, the video can be viewed by real time and up to 16x speed and, once identified, the important footage can be extracted and saved on a disk to provide to the police. The whole system can also be viewed from anywhere in the world, as long as it is connected to the internet.

We can provide everything from initial consultancy and site survey right through to the cabling, installation and setup of the cameras and recording system.

School ICT Projects

Our Experience

With our experience in schools we have come to realise that time is always at a premium, and some ICT co-ordinators and Head Teachers just don't have the time to develop their own solutions for their IT projects.

We have the knowledge, experience and staff to realise your desired result. We have successfully designed, implemented, project managed and completed the following projects:

  1. Cross-campus long range wireless link (cheaper than a wired option)
  2. ICT room recabling
  3. Research Machines (RM) CC3 network, server and workstations installation
  4. Complete data cabling and networking of a junior school
  5. RM notebus (16 laptops on a trolley) and server installation
  6. Supply and installation of an entire schools whiteboards, laptops and projectors
  7. Replacement of old security CCTV setup with new wall mounted PC Based solution

In addition to these we have carried out numerous smaller projects, such as extending existing data cabling into new/converted school rooms, rebuilds of troublesome machines, supply and installation of new printers and solving just about every minor to major IT problem that your average school comes across!
